Thousands Without Power After Tornado Hits Ontario | Cyber Protection Operation Center News

A supercell storm has caused chaos in the southern part of the Canadian province of Ontario. The storm dropped heavy amounts of rain and large hail, as well as bringing lightning, high winds, and even a tornado that touched down at the very rare time of 4:05 a.m.
Despite the tornado, the primary threats to the region were the high winds and lightning strikes. Falling trees took out power lines, and caused damage to buildings.
In the wake of the storm, there was notable tree damage caused by the tornado, while the additional 100km/h winds, heavy rains, and hail caused significant damage in the area. More than 27,000 were left without power after the storm.

Hurricanes and earthquakes are not always the most threatening natural disasters, with thunderstorms often damaging regions just as much as, or more than, the more commonly referenced natural disasters. Acronis Cyber Protect includes a simple backup solution that keeps your data safe when unexpected disasters damage your systems, and put your local data at risk.
