Hurricane Ida Leaves One Million Without Power | Cyber Protection Operation Center News

Hurricane Ida made landfall in Louisiana on August 29th as a category 4 storm. The storm was strong enough to temporarily reverse the flow of the Mississippi river, as it brought as much as 2 ft of rain (about 6 dm) in some areas, and a 7 foot storm surge.
In an area that regularly sees hurricanes, it is rare to see a storm that causes so much damage, with some experts likening it to Hurricane Isaac in 2012 or Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The storm left nearly 1 million customers without power in Louisiana, and brought widespread flooding to Louisiana and Mississippi. Across the region, trees were knocked down by the storm, and buildings were damaged or destroyed.
